Hi, I’m Scott McLeod—a Red Seal Certified Chef with nearly 30 years of experience in professional kitchens, and someone who knows firsthand that transformation doesn’t happen overnight… but it can happen.

For decades, I poured my energy into creating great food—working long hours in hotels, perfecting techniques, and feeding thousands. I was proud of my work, but I never imagined that one of my greatest transformations would happen outside the kitchen—during one of the most uncertain times in modern history.

The Wake-Up Call

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, I lost my job. Just like that, my entire career came to a halt. It was the first time in my life I’d been unemployed—and to be honest, it shook me. I went from working in a professional kitchen to becoming a full-time house husband almost overnight. I started waking up early to support my wife, clean the house, cook meals, organize our lives… things I might’ve done a quarter of before.

But here’s the truth: I didn’t do it out of pity or pressure. I did it because I finally had time to look inward and ask, “Who do I really want to be?”

Rewiring My Mindset

Before the pandemic, I wasn’t a very confident person. I always let self-doubt creep in and second-guessed myself more than I’d like to admit. But I made a decision—this was my moment to evolve.

I started with podcasts:

Rob Dial’s “The Mindset Mentor” helped me reprogram how I think.

Shawn Stevenson’s “The Model Health Show” taught me how deeply our physical health is connected to everything we do.

Then I dove into books—something I never really did before:

Mindset by Carol Dweck showed me the power of shifting from fixed to growth thinking.

Atomic Habits by James Clear taught me how small daily actions create real, lasting change.

The 5AM Club by Robin Sharma (and all of his work, honestly) gave me structure, purpose, and a daily rhythm I never had before.

There’s a powerful link between the gut and the brain—what you eat, how you think, and how you feel are all connected. I’ve lived it. I’ve studied it. And now, I’m here to share it.

That’s why I created this space—Chef Scott McLeod—to bring together healthy, easy-to-make meals and powerful mindset tools that can help you take ownership of your life.
